Project Co-ordinators and Local Action Group (LAG) members can advise on how to complete this form.
The Initial Enquiry Form will then be assessed by the LEADER team, if judged as a possible LEADER project, a full application form will be issued to the applicant for completion.
Please note that a detailed application form will only be made available after the project Co-ordinator has reviewed the completed Initial Enquiry Form.
Submitting an Application -
The LEADER Team will assist potential applicants to understand the scope of the programme and to develop eligible applications. Where appropriate, advice to redevelop a project or direct to other possible funding sources will be provided if possible.
Once the LEADER Team has confirmed that your project is eligible for funding you can prepare and submit an Application Form, including project details and financial information. The application will be assessed against the Programme objectives and discussed at the next meeting of the LAG for a decision on an award of funding.
Applications will be assessed in successive funding rounds. You must ensure your application is received before the deadline for a specific round.
When submitting the full application form, the applicant will need to supply a variety of information, details of which will depend on the nature of each project coming forward. Examples might be, details of the applicant’s organisation and constitution, any planning permissions or building warrants, estimates of equipment/services being provided, detailed proposal of the project including who is going to undertake the work, and letters confirming the applicant’s own contribution and match funding are in place.
When the completed Application Form is received by the LEADER
Team the project is appraised formally against the criteria and priorities. The
project is then considered by the Decision Making Body (DMB), a sub group of the
LAG, or the full LAG.
The DMB has delegated authority to approve applications for LEADER funding up to £10,000.
Decision to award funding of greater than £10,000 or to reject such an application must be approved by the LAG Partnership.
When a project is approved a formal Offer of Award letter with appropriate terms and conditions specific to the project will be issued on behalf of the LAG. This formal Offer of Award letter must be returned signed by the Applicant within four weeks of the offer being made.
When an application is unsuccessful, the LEADER
Team will inform the Applicant in writing to explain the decision and to offer further assistance as appropriate. Where projects do not receive funding or are ineligible, feedback will be provided.
