WHAT IS LEADER?


LEADER (Liaisons Entre Actions de Developpement de L'Economie Rurale - Links between actions for the development of the rural community) is a bottom up rural development programme which aims to improve the quality of life and economic prosperity in rural communities through locally driven rural development initiatives and projects.
The main aim of LEADER is to increase the capacity of local rural community and business networks to build knowledge and skills, innovate and co-operate in order to tackle local development objectives.
Moray has been allocated £1,840,000 of LEADER funds for the Moray Leader Programme 2008-2013.
